Smile
One of the comman sites in Delhi is a small child on a crossing asking for a rupee or two, it really touches me and i wonder what could be the possible solution to this long lasting social problem in India. But i have never been able to think of a solution for this. Although i strongly feel that we should not promote this and fight out this evil, but then are we prepeared find out an alternative job/work/school option for these minor children. I dont think we are. We cant just blame the Govt. also as they also have their own limitations and the worst part is even if the primary education is given to these children will that be enough for them to find a respectful job/standing in the society, in todays competative world where finding a job for an MBA is also difficult how can these poor children with almost no social/family/society backing can struggle out after the primary education. Higher education or professional education is not free and can also be not made free, because of the huge cost invloved in doing it, for which we are niether capable nor equipped with.
Then what can be done, i really dont have an answer ??? need your suggestions and views on this topic.
What i always try (i mean try) is to give them whatever is possible from my side money/eatable/cloth i mean anything which can bring SMILE on their face. I would anyday avoid giving money bu then ??? if i am in a mrket i will try and buy them some food (but i also have my limitations at time in terms of money that i am carrying or the money i can actually afford) U guys would understand what i mean... I think we should always contribute in one way or the other for this social problem. Just imagine how helpless these children are ... the way they look at us and the condition they are in... on one of us would like this to happen to anyone we know.
Remember an old urdu saying .....
ghar se masjid hai bahut door, chalo ye kar lein, ek roote hue bache ko hansaya jai....
Pls contribute for a better tommorow ... for all of us

Failure turned into success....
Taking forward my last blog on Dont Quit, i i have collected some small real life stories of people who have turned failure into success. These stories have i have recieved on mail from different people over a period of time.
In 1962, four nervous young musicians played their first record audition For the executives of the Decca Recording Company. The executives were not impressed. While turning down this group of musicians, One executive said, " We don't like! Their sound. Groups of guitars are On the way out." The group was called
The Beatles.
--------------------------------------------
In 1944, Emmeline Snively, director of the Blue Book Modeling Agency Told modeling hopeful Norma Jean Baker, " You'd better learn secretarial work or else get married". She went on and became
Marilyn Monroe.
--------------------------------------------
When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb,
He tried over 2000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He said, " I never failed once. I invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2000-step process".
-------------------------------------------
In the 1940s, another young inventor named Chester Carlson Took his idea to 20 corporations, including some of the biggest in The country.
They all turned him down. In 1947, after 7 long years of rejections, He finally got a tiny company in Rochester, NY, the Haloid Company, To purchase the rights to his invention--an electrostatic Paper-copying process. Haloid became
Xerox Corporation.
------------------------------------------
A little girl--the 20th of 22 children, Was born prematurely and her survival was doubtful. When she was 4 years old, She contracted double pneumonia and scarlet fever, Which left her with aparalyzed left leg.
At age 9, she removed the metal leg brace she had been dependent on And began to Walk without it. By 13 she had developed a rhythmic walk, Which doctors said was a miracle. That same year she decided to become a runner. She entered a race and came in last. For the next few years every Race she entered, She came in last.
Everyone told her to quit, but she kept on running. One day she Actually won a race. And then another. >From then on she won every race she entered. Eventually this little girl--
Wilma Rudolph, went on to win three Olympic gold medals.
----------------------------------------
A schoolteacher scolded a boy for not paying attention to his mathematics And for not being able to solve simple problems. She told him that you would not become anybody in life. The boy was
Albert Einstein
MORAL: WINNERS NEVER QUIT...QUITTERS NEVER WIN

An angel who made my career
She met me when i was a student in KV School, JNU, Delhi. She met me when i was one of the worst student of the class (at least on the academic front), she met me when i was alone and on one to guide me on the academic and carrer building front, she met me when i was about to fail in my school.
I am writing about my tution teacher whom i went to in Class IV, my parents were not educated enough (academically) to teach me and as at that point of time we belonged to very lower middle class family living in a village in Delhi , they were very busy in making our dreams and worried about marraige of my brothers and sisters, my brothers and sister never had the time because of the age gap. She came in my life as an angel who made my career.
She belonged to Hyderabad and was living in Delhi with her husband and two kids of almost my age. he husband was doing some project from IIT Delhi. She used to charge 60 rupess a month and used to teach around 10 students a time. First day when i went to her she asked me to write as many english word i knew with hindi meaning and believe me i was only able to write two words, english had always been weakness. But within a month i was her best student and when after one month she again asked me to write as many words and this time i did farely well two pages ... i was excited and one of the most happy person around. Showed my work to everybody around .... slowly and gradually she made me one of the bright students in my class. I remember in my VI standard she once went to Hyderabad and my result was to come out i was very tense and said madam you should be here, she gave her address and went to Hyd, i actually send her a post card with my result she came back and hugged me and was very happy. After that i never looked back and kept on doing very well in all the subjects.
Then in class VII i was still her student, they decided to move to Hyd. i was like shocked, with tears in my eyes i said madam what will happen now, how will i study, she said Shiv life never stops u will get another teacher, BUT i knew i will never get.
AND I ACTUALLY NEVER GOT...
I could not even meet her when she were actually leaving Delhi, i was in my school. Biggest irony is i dont even know her name as i always used to call her Madam, Madam, Madam. Her face is till in front of me and will always remember because whatever i am all credit for that goes to her. I wish i can somehow find her and i am sure if she remember me, she would be one of the most happiest person. I tried from various sources but could not find her. I wish Madam wherever you are pls keep showering me with your love and blessings, and i wish you would be with all the happinees in this world. Had she not met me i would have never be able to even finish my sschool forget the Grad and the higher studies.
I feel one day we will definately meet, i am sure she will never be able to recognise me but i will as her face still shines in my eyes and will always be. And that day for me would be my meeting with GOD.
Pls meet me...........Madam

Dont Quit...
Never never ever quit... whatever the challenge that you have taken. Perseverance and patience always pays. Often we quit when we are very closer to the victory, that is the time we need to reinforce and channelise our energy more strongly and fight against all the odds. As ne of the great leaders said "Before success comes in any man's life, he's sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That's exactly what the majority of men do"
There will be instances, moments when you are strugling, their is no hope visible, on friend in sight, you feel the entire world is sucking you, down and out remember after every night their is a morning, after every friday their is saturday and sunday, i am sure these would be the momemnts of test of your skills and patience. I know writing and saying is easy but believe me you will surely have success. Let me just share with you one of the best SMS that i have recieved.
Positives pictures come out of negative developed in dark rooms, so when you find yourself lonely and dark, understand that God is working on a beautiful picture.
So never quit and keep trying suceess is just round the corner.....
Peace

Power of silence
Dear All,
Have you ever experienced a moment in your life when you just ran out of words and you go... s i l e n t ....
Let me assist you in recalling... .. the moment when you left your home for the first time and you look back at your parents who are worried that their son/daughter are leaving them yet happy that their child took the first step towards independence.
... the moment when the girl/boy you like most.. smiled back at you! You dont say anything.. you just smile back..
... the moment when you get better marks than you expected... those "numb" moments of ecstacy n surprise "is that true?"...
... the moment when you are parting with your old friend(s) and the train has just started... and you are standing on the door of the wagon.. waving "bye-bye" with your heart beating fast...
... the moment after the HR manager has just called you and told you,"You are through! Congrats!"
... the moment when you sit alone in your room after having told everyone that you cleared that exam you prepared for 6 months!!
You can go on remembering your "special" moments!
I had always wondered why I never said anything to myself at those moments.. as if it was "understood"... happiness, joy, pain.. all feelings just flowed ceaselessly in the 'years' that passed in those flash moments!
They say.. the best way to communicate is through "silence".
Love. Joy. Grief. Surprise. Anger. Hope. Expectations. Support. Non-cooperation...
Can you imagine the importance of a silent moment in a song??
When Bryan Adams stops for a while along with music, before he goes on in his husky voice... ... Please forgive me. I cant stop loving you!
Ever had those moments when you thought you were tired enough that you reach for your bed after dinner.. but find yourself wide awake looking at the roof of your room silently...
But you sure are 'thinking'... those moments of self-talk are the most important in our lives. Those moments when we listen to our own hearts! Those promises... those decisions... those are the moments when we make our destinies!
Next time you go silent... listen carefully to what your heart is saying.. listen to its joy...listen to its pain.. listen to its fears.. listen to its desires..
Dont make it shut up and go off to sleep... LISTEN TO THAT VOICE and ACCEPT EVERYTHING IT SAYS! That voice alone can lead you to the abode of peace that your sleep lacks... peace that awaits you!
Be in touch with your true self... be silent once a day, every day !

Keep Going
This is one of the best mail i have recieved
So true .................. . Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player, was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?
To this Arthur Ashe replied: The world over -- 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5,000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, When I was holding a cup, I never asked GOD "Why me?". And today in pain I should not be asking GOD "Why me?"
Happiness keeps u Sweet, Trials keep u Strong, Sorrow keeps u Human, Failure Keeps u Humble, Success keeps u Glowing, But only God Keeps u Going.....
Keep Going.....

KANK
Today we went to see Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, it was one of those typical karan johar movies which is being made around relations, love, love, love and nothing else. I generally dont like watching these type of movies which K.J make which generally does not carry any relevant social message, he makes movies which are extremly commercial oriented and are made only and only to make money which they always do. Lucky you...
I went because my family wanted to see latset BOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER which i feel this will become.

My journey with IT industry
My first work....
I have been associated with IT industry now for almost 7 years now, this journey of 7 years in marketing function have seen all the phases of a bollywood movie which has fun, romance, love, sacrifice, terror, pain. I started off when this industry was catching up with masses in India, dot com bubble was on its rise, java and internet business were ruling the indusrty, people were actually changing their functional areas and starting their career in IT thinking that one day they would be Bill Gates and Scott of this world. And i am sure whole lot of people have actually made their career also. And then on the other side there were people who thought of this as a temperory phase and believed that this is just a hype.Even one of our most intellectual family member used to say that you should change your industry, but some how i was convinced that i am at a right place, because i knew that IT will rule the world and would even change the way business is done across the globe.
And then within a year, year and half came the biggest nightmare DOTCOM BUBBLE BURST, millions of people across start losing jobs, companies were forced to close within 6 months of their operations. But still i had conviction and confidence if not on my abilities and skills at least on the future of IT. I struck on with the industry with reduced pay package and with no perks. This was the time when i used to work to secure my job and not to grow. But i knew somewhere in my heart that one day we (IT) will bounce back and show the world that you cant walk without us. This pahse which lasted for almost 3 years tought me everything, made me cry, made me look at options but the support that i got from my family to fight the tough time made me strong enough to fight it out.
They say after every night there will be a morning which will bring happiness and joy back, and it did happened although the night was slightly long but looling at the sun after this long, dark, horryfing night was gift worth waiting for.... Today things seems to be good and sun is shining, hope and pray it continues so that millions of people like me can fulfill their dreams.
